Wrapping, Wrapping, Wrapping

Well, I started wrapping presents and I think I will be done in time for Christmas. This is a time consuming job. I like to wrap and I am okay at it, but it does take time. It is fun to UNwrap presents too!!!!

Happy Holidays!!!

Cookie Cookie Starts With "C"!

This is the time of year that you bake cookies, give cookies, get cookies and of course eat cookies. My favorite are soft cookies. And if the cookies are the hard kind, I dip them in milk. Yes, I have teeth, but they are much more enjoyable soft.

The kids and I made Hanukkah cookies today using some new cookie cutters I bought for the season. Sugar sprinkles are all over the kitchen. I had to change my sock because they had sugar sprinkles on them. Sarah really pours instead of sprinkles the sugar so some of the cookies are a Sugar Lovers dream.

My favorite part of baking cookies with the kids is the fun they have doing it as much as I do.

It is Hanukkah!

Time to play the dreidel game! The kids are having fun celebrating one of their holidays. They painted their own dreidels, ate chocolate shaped Star of Davids, and helped light the Hanukkah candles.

More to come since we celebrate for eight days. Today is day three!

Happy Holidays!

I shopped and shopped and shopped this weekend! Got great deals. Santa is good! Our house is decorated for Christmas and Hanukkah. Just have to put the icle lights on outside. Need a Christian to show me how to hang lights. Never done this before. Anyway, a ladder might help too.

Haven't hung out with friends in awhile. Time to get together!!!! When are we having lunch? Shopping in King of Prussia? Even for a few hours.

Might try to go to Jingle Bell Fest this year. Never been, but seems like it would be fun with the kids. We went to the lighting of Borough Hall the other night. That was nice and sweet. I am sure Jingle Bell Fest will be even better. I am aiming for the night of the 14th or 15th. If you want to go with us, let me know.

Anyway, come over for some tea!!!! Time for family and friends!!!!

November is Here

The feeling of the holidays is here. YEAH! Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas. I love to get the kids excited about the holidays. We watch all the holiday specials on tv. Bake some specials food. Talk about toys they want for Christmas. Take them to see all the lights. Snuggle in front of our fake fire place. That is exciting for them and for me.

We have decorated for Thanksgiving already. We are going to Nana and Papa's house to have our family meal.

Hanukkah is early this year and starts the night Dec 4. It goes for eight days. Want to show my friends the menorah and play the dreidel game.

We celebrate all the holidays in this family. And will learn as much as we can about them as well.

Changes

Everything changed for today. The bad weather made us have to cancel the yard sale. My in-law aren't taking the kids this weekend. Dennis and I can't go dancing together tonight. I will go by myself to Jamie's birthday dance off.

I am feeling much much anxiety caused by my doctors. Aren't they supposed to help me? Anyway....have been struggling this week.

At least, I can spend time with my friends tonight to help get my mind of things. And I get to spend free time with my kids where we don't have plans during the day for the next two days. Hopefully, they can keep their fighting to a minimum...for my sake.

I miss the park!

What's New? Everything!

Halloween was a fun event. We had a gathering here and Ami had a gathering there. We definitely celebrated this holiday. Lots of candy and great cookies too. Ami is a great cookie maker.

We celebrated Jamie's b-day yesterday by having her over for lunch. We wanted to celebrate her day with her. She is a great friend.

Kids have been mildly sick this week, but are on the mend. Wish we could have gone to park, but weather has been to cold and windy.

Not liking this night early stuff since we had to change the clocks back. I do better in day light.

Been under a lot of stress lately. Don't know what is going to happen with my driving and the increase on my medication is probably effecting me too.

Having a yard sale this weekend with my friends and hope to make some money. I have to find more of my stuff to sell so I can make something from all this hard work. Will dig up some more stuff in attic and basement.

The best closing to the week will be dancing on Saturday night. Boogey Down!!!

A Rainy Day with Some Fun

Today is rainy, but that didn't stop the day from coming. I had words with kids at the bus stop this morning as they have not been behaving and are going to cause a serious accident. So now I am being bad mouthed by some 6th graders. Then I had to drop off important papers to one of my doctors. Took Sarah to breakfast and to Target. Took Sarah and Nathaniel to school and watched Baby Ben for a few hours. Got Connor off bus...was yelled at by 6th graders again. Took Connor to soccer end of season party. Connor got a trophy and a soccer bank from his coaches. Now we are home.

Phew.......tea anyone?

A Day In October

I guess I didn't write for a long time since my last blog was in August. Seems this time of the year is very busy with school, soccer, cub scouts, etc. Much is new and much is old. Some is bad and some is good. Some I remember and some I don't.

Been taking the kids to the park as much as possible before the weather has a big cold spell. Looking forward to all the holidays since I love them so much. I love decorating with the kids and the spirit that comes with each holiday. I guess you could say I am like a big kid during those times.

Halloween is around the corner and we have out costumes....Connor will be a ghost, Sarah will be a Pikachu, Dennis will be a bandit, and I will be a food. What a bunch of different things. Maybe we will have a theme next year.

Anyway, Connor was in the Halloween parade and I was so excited for him. He joined his cub scouts as they walked down the streets of Mohnton.

More of this and more of that. later.

Weekend of Plenty

This weekend was full to the max. My mother-in-law came on Friday to go shopping with me in our area. We saw many Goodwills and some great country stores. We were out so late that a place actually turned the lights off on us. Mother-in-law spent the night on the couch.

Saturday my mother-in-law drove me up to Mountain Top where they live (and the kids are visiting)so we could go to a tea room with Sarah. It was Sarah's first time. We dressed in our dresses and when we got there we were given a choice of hats to wear. It was very lady-like. We had scones and tea. Sarah had hot chocolate. There was soup, salad, and tea sandwhiches too. It was fun to see Sarah try to act very lady-like. She had a great time. The tea roon was wonderful. While we were at the tea room Papa took Connor on a train ride at Steamtown. Dennis was still at work and met us at his parents late because he was going to a baseball game with his Dad and brother. Everyone had a different schedule.

After spending the night at my in-laws Saturday night, we came back home. Then we were off to my Grandma's condo in Limerick. The kids and Dennis had never seen it before and we were to eat dinner there. We had dinner while trying not to fall asleep. My parents were there too. After a few hours, we returned home.

I slept like a rock.

Exploring New Park

I took the kids to Nolde Forest Park on Sunday since we hadn't been there yet and we felt like exploring. The kids love to explore new areas just as much as I do. We enjoyed this park very much. We went hiking in the forest. It was very beautiful. We walked across bridges and along the creek. We were told there were toads, crawfish, and salamanders but we didn't see them.

Sarah wanted to keep hiking, but I was afraid she would get tired and I would have to carry her all the way back and I couldn't do that with my shoulder/neck hurting. She loves to hike too. Next time we will bring some water and hike longer. It is not hot back there because it is very shaded with all the trees.

Also, a couple lost their dog on the hike and we went looking for her for awhile. Connor was upset that we couldn't find her. I told him that someone would find the dog. He wanted to put up posters and everything. We tried, but no success.

It was a nice thing to do with the kids on a Sunday afternoon. We enjoyed ourselves.

Kids Come Back!

I got my kids back!!!!! They were at Nana and Papa's a few days. I missed them. Now they are home with me (and Dennis).

Can't believe school is starting at the end of this month (August). I am going to be working with the kids on writing and letters this month to get them back into the groove. Time to PLAY school.

Also, maybe we can throw Hershey Park in there some time.

Anyway, lots to do and little time.

Dennis' Birthday! Old Man!!!!

Dennis's birthday was Saturday (7/28). But, we started celebrating on Friday night. My parents came for dinner and gave Dennis some Yuengling beer and a gift card to get some books. Dennis' parents and brother came down Saturday for the day to help celebrate. We celebrated by going out to eat to Charlie Brown's for dinner and by having a wonderful Reese's Peanut Butter frozen cake at home. The restaurant even sang "Happy Birthday" and Dennis blushed right through his beard. (Needs to shave.)

Dennis got tickets to the Reading Phillies from his parents and went today with Connor and his Dad. Phillies won.

It was a jam packed weekend. Now, kids are with Dennis' parents for a few days. I will miss them much, but I can get some much needed rest too.

Kids to Grandparents and Back Again

Connor and Sarah went to their grandparents (my side of the family) yesterday to spend the night. Apparently, they had fun drawing, walking the dog, watching tv, playing trains, etc. They even went fruit picking this morning with them before they brought them back to me. They picked blueberries and blackberries. Also, my parents took us to lunch at Friendly's. It was a nice visit. All went well.

Connor and Sarah of course fought who would sit next to me in the restaurant. So the fighting for the day started with that and seeing Mommy. Apparently, my kids are good with everyone else. The rest of this afternoon they have been lounging around watching their new favorite movie "Dumbo".

On another note, Dennis' birthday is Saturday this week, so we are going out to dinner that night to celebrate. Still thinking of a present to get him. He will be 35. Not quite over the hill yet.

Weekend of Fun

The weekend was fun. Spent the weekend with in-laws going to Hickory Run Park and shopping. There is a beach at this park and a boulder field unlike anything I have ever seen before. This is a great place to bring kids.

I was so exhausted that I just wanted to sleep in my own bed so we drove home Saturday evening arriving home late. Sunday was just house work day.

Today (Monday), kids are going to grandparents for sleep over tonight. Dennis and I will go out for dinner and make it a date. Love those dates with my hubby.

Rain stopped kids from going to Tot Lot today. Boy am I going to miss Tot Lot when it is finished in Aug. I am getting spoiled.

To the Movies

I took Connor, Sarah, and Mady to the movies today to see "Ratatoulle" as part of a Tot Lot event. Mady and Connor sat together in the back of the theater. Sarah wanted to sit with me in the middle. I am not sure any of the kids liked the movie. I feel like I am playing 20 questions when I am trying to find out info from them. "Did you like the movie?", "Was the rat funny?", "Did you laugh at any parts?", "Was the popcorn food?", etc.

I think the movie made me hungry though since it was all about food.

We had Chinese food for lunch ---delivery!

Still Sweating

Well, I sent the kids to Tot Lot today in the scorching sun. They survived. Sarah and Connor were so sweaty. We took Mady this morning too. After I drop them off, Sarah didn't want me to leave so I pretty much ran for my life to the car.

I went to Blockbuster to rent a few movies. Since when does it cost almost $9.00 for two movies. I should have just gone to the movies.

It is warm in my house. This heat makes me not want to do anything. I have to cut the grass, but it is too hot right now. Maybe it will rain and cool things off. I will now do my rain dance!

I want to get back to our walking again once it cools down enough so I will be guaranteed not to have a stroke.

Stay cool everyone.

Rain is Gone - Yippie

Well, I have felt like I am starting to mold after all this rain. Finally, I can see that sun that was supposed to be out on the 4th of July. What a disappointment the 4th was to me! Yes, I went to Kutztown fair and had a good time, but I was waiting to shoot off some fireworks for the kids. Better believe there will be some firework shooting tomorrow at our party.

Starting to get everything ready for the party. I love parties. I love hanging out with my friends. The kids will have a blast (the fireworks again).

Bring your friends. Have a great time with us!!!!!!!!!

P.S. I think pregnant woman are beautiful!

July 3rd

It's the day before 4th of July. Connor can't wait until America's Birthday. Kids went to Tot Lot and I went shopping. YEAH! Took kids to lunch. Ate too much. Plan to go to Community Days today. I will be broke when finished. Rides cost too much. Looks like too many big rides...my kids will be scared of them.. Will save money that way.

Looking forward to having all my friends over on Saturday. We are going to have lots of fun. The kids can't wait to play with all their friends too. And there will be cheesecake!!!!!

HOT HOT HOT

Today is so hot that I can fry an egg, scramble it, or make an omelette in the air. Cutting the grass was a mistake today.....but, the "Grass Cutting Genie" wasn't going to cut it. Hung out with Ami this afternoon at her house. Those floors look GREAT! Connor was the first one to go for a ride on them (slipped).

Monday...blahs

Mondays can be "Blah". Today started out as a rainy morning. But, my friends make Monday anything but "blah". I like that our kids do things together. Not only is it great for our children, but is great for me too. I enjoy time I spend with my friends. My friends (you know who you are), mean a lot to me and I am glad I met you. For all the things we do and will do..."Blah" is not ever going to be a Monday again.

Tot Lot Day

Sarah and Connor went to Tot Lot for the first time today. They both had a good time. Sarah said she was told to "sit down" by one of the coaches. Apparently she didn't like that. It was nice to have a few hours to myself this morning. I ran to the Dollar Store to buy stuff for our holiday bash. Got lots of nice things. We are going to have lots of fun!

Mady Visits

Well, Mady came to visit us for the day. We had lots of fun playing Polly Pockets, Dora, and trains. We ate popcorn too. Yum!

We also went to Shady Maple for some fun on HUMP day. Speaking of "HUMPS" Mady and Emily rode a camel there. Get it! We had lots of fun with Ami and her kids today and we appreciate her inviting us out for the day.

My First Blog

Well, this is my first blog and it should get easier with every entry. So, sorry for the boring stuff.

Sarah has swim lessons today. Her friends, Alicia, Maddy, and Emily are taking the class with her. She seems excited and I hope she goes in the water today. Glad she has such good friends!
